My inane life… in glorious details!
About Me
Hi there! My name is Julien McArdle, and I’m a researcher with a small R&D group working in the natural resource exploration industry. I specialize in software development, though I also dab in geophysics and mathematics. As for my life outside of the work environment, I’m an independent film-maker, author, web-designer, and recovering network security bloke.
I’ve directed a few films, including a documentary on the topic of Internet piracy and copyright in the digital age. I’ve also written a semi-fictional book that focuses on the realm of computer security. I have a pretty deep affinity for computer security. Over the years I’ve helped bring a few vulnerabilities to light, and have written for 2600 Magazine and PC World.
My other interests includes raising awareness for real-world crises regardless of their popularity with Western culture (ie. slaughter in the Congo), all the while trying to raise awareness for the issues at home. I love to travel, and to experience humanity’s offerings.
